Mother's Salad

This isn't your normal "house salad". Whenever I order a house salad, I'm always disappointed with a plate of iceberg lettuce and a few shavings of carrots.
Beets, carrots, cucumber mushroom and organic greens- now that's a GOOD house salad

PS I'm officially in school now. Less time, sleep and but hopefully just as much fun!

Saturday Breakfast

Another Saturday and another trip to Mother's Market. My breakfast: vegan pancakes. There was a mix up in the kitchen and they brought me buttermilk pancakes. By the time my real pancakes came out I was too hungry to take pictures. :) Just pretend these are vegan okay? hehe

Richard had Ranch-style Chilaquiles. I want to ask if they can make this vegan for me. I tried the veggies in it and they were GREAT; mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, zucchini and tomatoes.

Have a great weekend

Mother's Breakfast

Saturday morning breakfasts at my house involve either me cooking my heart out or Richard and I being completely lazy and going out.
This was a lazy weekend and Mother's Market sounded like heaven.

I ordered the Acai bowl (which was overflowing with goodness- bananas, granola and acai/soy mixture).

I also stuffed down a side of potatoes; I always like to have something warm with my breakfast.

What can I say? My lazy attitude was rewarded with nutritious, mouth watering food. This may start a new Saturday tradition.

Mother's Kitchen 2

Richard's dinner

Richard ordered steamed greens with tempeh and udon noodles in a ginger sauce.

Now I wasn't the official consumer of this meal but I stole couple (or five) bites. The sauce is what makes this dish. It was slightly sweet and salty. My next favorite part of this dish was the tempeh. It tasted as if it was soaked in shitake mushroom which fit perfectly with the ginger sauce.

What made this dish over the top for me was that it came with the same salad I ordered on the side AND cornbread. Along with the cornbread was some wonderful blueberry preserves.

Here's the best part of all, I told my parents how much I enjoyed this meal and now they want to go here for a family veg night sometime soon!

You won't be seeing the last of me and Mother's Kitchen
