Squash

Last week I mentioned that I went to Little Saigon for some shopping. While there I picked up a bunch of random veggies and fruits and I have NO idea what they are actually called because most things there are not labeled in English.
This is one of those things that I don't know the name of lol... :)
It's some sort of squash. I roasted it, obviously and it was very sweet. Actually nothing else was done to this squash, I consumed as is, skins and all.

Anyone want to suggest what kind of squash this is? The flesh is that yellow-ish color and the outside is green. I think I may go back and ask someone.

Have a great day!

Whatever it is, it looks great! I love perusing the Asian markets for strange new produce.

That's so strange that all the labels weren't in english! What language were they in?

I think that's an acorn squash~those are absolutely AMAZING--I tried them for the first time in the caf this year and my mouth was on cloud nine! XD

Haha I was just browsing blogs and saw this post. Could it be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calabaza? I'm Ecuadorian and my mother uses this squash all the time in her cooking.

I love the fact that you can eat the skin of this squash, is it buttercup? I like to roast it with mollasas, onions, garlic and ginger, than puree it with some soy milk to make a great soup. Yum!
