I had fresh blue berries in my breakfast cereal this morning and it just inspired me to write about how awesome they are! I don't know if it's just me, but I enjoy knowing all about the food I put into my body eachday. Makes me conscious of what I choose to fuel my life and that's important to me. I LOVE being healthy- it helps keep me happy! (hm I should add that to the description of the site)
: )
New Jersey is one of the US's biggest producers of Blueberries. (I don't know why, but that's shocking to me, it's a little state and I just think of the city I guess) (source)

Over 200 million pounds of blueberries are grown every year in North America. (source)
Blueberries are first picked by hand to gather the best of the early fruit. Later, if the fruit is to be mechanically harvested, a harvesting machine goes through the field and gently shakes each bush so only the ripe blueberries drop off.(source)
- Blueberry juice is also recommended for the prevention of urinary tract infections since it contains a compound that prevents harmful bacteria from anchoring itself to the bladder. (source)
- Blueberries also contain measurable quantities of ellagic acid, which has been proven to inhibit chemically induced cancer in laboratory studies.(source)
- Remember how your mouth and teeth turn blue from eating way too many of these things? Well the color can be used as a natural clothing dye.

I got this one from VegWeb.com I like it because it's easy and you don't need too many ingredients (source)

: ) Good evening to ya'll (yea I can say Ya'll because I was born in VA and that's how we say it there) hehe
I'm at my folks house, preparing to watch the last episode of this seasons LOST. I know I know, why do I watch it? Well it's kind of become a family thing.. Every Wednesday I come over here, eat and watch LOST- now I'm hopelessly addicted! But at least I get time with the fam. I do have this to say about the TV show. Like so many other things, parts of it remind me of when I studied abroad in Thailand. The food actually. The show makes me wish I could eat freshly picked- vine ripped, bananas. I think 98% of bananas you get at the store are picked green then allowed to sit and ripen and it makes them less sweet than the ones I ate in Thailand. Well I guess Thai fruits are a whole new topic for me haha : )
see ya'll later!!
