Thai food

Last night we were heading for a favorite veggie restaurant only to find when we arrived that it's closed on Mondays. Luckily a nice woman walked out to apologize for the restaurant being closed and directed us to several NEW veg friendly places.
Below is what we feasted on:

Young coconut drink.

Fried tofu in mint leaves, bamboo shoots and chili.

Pad Se Ew
When we ordered all our food with tofu the waiter let us know that he would order it to be made without fish sauce too. The food was great and I KNOW we'll be eating here again. The best news is that there are 2 other completely vegetarian stops within one block of this place.

You are so lucky - all those great veg options. I forgot to tell you, when we went back to CA for a visit we ate at Wheel of Life. It's in Irvine in the Ralphs shopping center off the 5 and Culver exit. All vegan and the owners are 4th generation vegans. They're both very nice and I would highly recommend this place.

How I love Thai food! Especially at restaurants where they're knowledgeable about the fish sauce thing. And that coconut drink looks very cool.

that looks excellent...especially the tofu and mint. and the umbrella, of course. :) what's a drink without an umbrella?

Teddy, please name names! Where are these new veg-friendly places?

I tend not to trust Thai places with leaving out the fish sauce. I've eaten "vegetarian" Thai food before where I could still taste the fish sauce in it. So I really only eat Thai if it's a 100% veg. restaurant.
