Every weekend the local college here has a swap meet that includes a small market.
Richard and I went yesterday.
Below are some great pictures of the food.

Potatoes, tomatillos and tamarind.

Tomatoes, jalpenos, onions and catus

There were about 8 different types of dried chilis. The warm smell filled the tents and we both enjoyed it.

Finally, we bought a coconut to eat/drink. I'm used to young coconut and I found this one more salty yet still enjoyable/satisfying.

I think this may become a regular visit for us.

What is your favorite item from your local farmers market?

I've never seen Nightmare Before Xmas. Perhaps we have it in 3d here. I'll need to check it out.

Unfortunately, I haven't made it to a farmer's market yet. Excuses, excuses... I'm jealous that you all seem to have so many great ones nearby.

I do hit a couple of local farms every week or so until winter. No favorite item, I always like to try new things. A few weeks back, I bought a celebration squash to cook up. That was new for me and very tasty!

Wow, that's really impressive.

Can't say I really have a favorite item from my local farmer's market, because I don't really have a local farmer's market! When I move to Atlanta, I plan to really get everything I can from the markets there!

We have so many great items at our farmers' market, so I can't choose just one. My favorites would be the asparagus, walnuts, honey and dates. Mmmm!

Is this @ Orange Coast College, Teddy? It all looks beautiful! At our Idaho FM, my favorite item is Kale. At our "old" Hollywood FM, it was Valencia Oranges.
We took a couple days last week in San Francisco, and I thought of your post & visit there. We ate at Millennium just like you! :o)

Teddy, the photos are great! I love seeing all the produce!! I wish our farmer's markets would stay open a bit longer! They end at the end of this month! :(

I think my favorite item to get at our Farmer's market is IBG bunches of leafy greens. They are so fresh and really cheap!! makes me eat more salads too! :)
