Thai Patio

Richard and I trekked up to LA's Thai town and tried some new Thai food.

It was pretty cheap and that made me happy. Only 5-6 bucks a plate and so much better than any fast food at that price.

The tofu there was AMAZING. I don't know how they cooked it at all. It was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside.
I had Thai basil and chili with tofu.

Richard had Masaman curry with tofu. WOW. I snuck some bites from his and started pondering a trade haha.

I want to make more trips to LA's Thai town for the food alone.

Afterwards I tried to convince Richard to get some Durian but the smell made him refuse.
Soon though, I am trying Durian dang it!

Thanks to everyone for wishing my mom a happy birthday- she LOVED it :)

Are there any exotic foods you've been itching to try?

Oh how I love Thai food. Although it is much better (and way cheaper) in Thailand. When I was there last winter break I couldn't get enough of it. I've really been wanting to try some real authentic African food- don't know how veg. friendly it would be tho. I have had erritrean food and loved it- who knows?

oh, when I visited my family in SE Asia last winter they wouldn't let me try durian because they didn't want to bring it into the house... haha

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (belated) to Teddy's mom!!

Love your Thai food pix and what you had. Sounds just wonderful. A trip to where you went sounds like a blast, too!

Ooh, I hope your mom had a great birthday!

Your Thai dinner looks great. I'd be trying to trade for some of that curry too!! :P

I never tried Durian, but I heard it was a bit stinky!

I saw Dragonfruit in the store recently and was amazed by the color! I'd like to try one of those some time!

This looks great! We're going out for some Thai food tonight. Omniman wants some tomyum soup to help cure his cold.

Ohhh... Pics like that could persuade me to come all the way to the West Coast for veg food! Sounds fabulous, every bit.

What's Durian?

We love Thai food and are lucky to have a few good places here in O-town. It's one of the few ethnic foods I can get my family/friends to go to with me.
