Wed Veg Night

I have some great news! Emily (Cara's dog) has a new PUPPY to play with!
I stopped by to check this little guy out and boy is it hard to take pictures of a puppy.

The new pup is a 2 month-old West Highland White Terrier boy.

Meet Ender

He's still teething and is chewing on everything.
I was so glad to meet this little guy (though seeing him does make me want a cat even more).

Richard and I are going to have a 4 day vacation in September so we've decided no cat until after then.

Onto a wonderful Greek get-away that my family made for Richard and I.

Grape leaves stuffed with pine nuts, rice, mint, lemon zest and probably more but they were too good- I ate them quickly.

John's delish creation; I believe they're called Dolmas. Looks like I'll have to research it. I've not had much Greek food before.

Vegetarian Moussaka! It looks meaty but I swear it's just eggplant, mushrooms, onions and spices. This was a first for me and it was a complete hit. Richard loved it and even had seconds.

See? We LIKE it

The best part is the leftovers. That means that I won't have to cook a lunch tomorrow and about this time of the week it's nice to have a day off.

A spectacular night full of great food and cutie dogs- does it get any better?

Great post. The puppy is so cute and nice that he has a companion. I know how hard it can be to want to have an animal and wait.

Those dolmas (grape leaves) look wonderful. I have a post from Jan or Feb where I hand-rolled them for the first time ever. This all looks great, and as always, you look like you are having fun.

Now Teddy...you probably shouldn't show dolmathes right after you show a puppy... ; )

mmmm... greek food..

about your last post.. I think it's great that you are thinking of adopting an older cat. So many people want kittens, when there are so many older cats euthanized because no one will give them a chance. I definitely say rescue/adopt a cat from a shelter. Keep it indoors if you can... (it's hard, if a cat has been an outdoor cat, but since you don't have kids and their friends running in and out of the house, it will be easier)

Awww, sweet looking pups. There's a Greek restaurant that we go to for lunch sometimes called Papa Cristo's. Overall it's not terribly veg*n friendly, but one of their regular rotating specials is veg moussaka, I always hope they have it whenever I go because it's good and filling. It's primarily eggplant, potatoes and onions. Apparently Nia Vardalos frequents the place, so it must be good!

Ender is adorable--and so are you. I love stuffed grape leaves. Our Grek place calls them dolmades.

Great post.

That moussaka looks awesome. But the highlight for me is the little Westie. I heart Westies! Adorable.
