Picnic

I decided to surprise Richard tonight by having a picnic ready for him when he got home from work.
I should probably mention that I decided to do this during my 15 minute drive home and that I also realized that I would just have to make due with whatever we had in the house.

Here's what we're going to have

TVP sloppy joes. I changed the ordinary sloppy job by adding some caramelized onions and some jalapenos

Last night my mom gave me a George Foreman Grill! Apparently Kohl's was having a deal in which you buy a microwave and you get a coffee maker and a grill for free!
Mom needed a new microwave and said she could use a new coffee maker. She saw my post saying that I was thinking of getting a grill- viola! I have a grill :)
Thank you mom!!!

I couldn't wait to use it.
While I was at my grandpa's birthday, my aunt came by with fresh veggies from her garden. These are her home grown squash and zucchini.

It's all turned out great. I can't wait for Richard to get home so we can head out to the park! He just called a few minutes ago to say he would need to stay at work longer :( Hopefully he'll get home before the sun goes down. But if not, I'm throwing down a blanket in our living room and setting it up there.

Have a good night everyone!

Teddy

I love picnics, living room style or otherwise. My kids used to think it extra special to eat on a blanket in the living room with us.

A picnic! What a great idea. I'll have to suggest this to Ryan for this weekend and maybe he'll bite. He did give away my Twins (baseball) ticket so he could go with a friend so he owes me :)

P.S. Congrats the the George Foreman Grill.

Aww, that looks like so much fun! Picnics are the best, especially the surprise kind.

I've really come to love my George Foreman grill since I became vegan! So it's great that you have one now!

FAB! Yum! I have a generic "foreman" thinking about getting a real one. Hubs has one for his omni stuff...I got a small one that has enough room for 2 veggieburgers. It's hard to "grill" on it but I does ok.

Cute dog pictures, too!

Lookin' good, Teddy. Picnics rule. I've had a few on my balcony in my teeny condo... fun! I so want a George Foreman grill. Your mom is such a sweetie... How cool to be grillin' as you can with that!

You go, grill!

I have a small George Foreman, and love it for cooking my veggie burgers. I got a grill pan with a gift cert I got for my birthday (I'm probably the only person who wants Linens 'N Things or Bed Bath & Beyond gift certs), but I haven't had a chance to use it yet.
