(source)

Honey=Yummy
Doesn't it?

I know most people just use it to slather onto a grapefruit or squeeze into their tea. But what does it take to get all that sweet goodness from the bee to you food?

Honey Facts

It takes about 2 MILLION flowers and bees working together to create one Lb. of honey

In it's entire lifetime the average bee only produces 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey.

and here's the kicker the average American eats 1.31 POUNDS of honey in a year!
wow we really make those little guys work to keep giving us that yummy sweet stuff : )

Recipe
I got this recipe from honey.com and tweaked it a bit. I wanted something a bit more savory so i added some green onion but you can make it sweet with a little fruit too! This would be a great recipe for a tea party with the kids.

Honey Cream Cheese Tea Sandwiches
Ingredients

I recommend Rye bread

3 oz. cream cheese, softened

Tablespoons honey

Finely chopped green onion

Remove crust from bread. Combine cream cheese, honey and small amount of green onion; blend until smooth. Spread cheese mixture on bread.

Easy huh? Pretty tastey too : )

From Mom - Do you remember peanut butter candy? It's made with honey. Actually, I don't know if I ever made it for you. Did I?

It's just peanut butter, honey and powdered milk. You're supposed to put it in balls on a cookie sheet and refrigerate it a while, but we used to eat it straight from the bowl.

mmmmm... goood.
